Valiant chief of police Tasers 14-year-old epileptic girl, who wasn't even under arrest
July 2, 2009 -- Roger Hatcher, the brave chief of police of Tucumcari, N.M., showed superhuman restraint when instead of shooting 14-year-old epileptic Kailee Martinez dead, he merely fired a Taser dart into her skull. Lucky for Kailee, the dart penetrated her brain. Hatcher, apparently slower than Frank Cannon -- he said he would have just tackled her if possible -- was placed on administrative leave a few days later. Thankfully, an internal investigation cleared him a few weeks later. After this incident, Hatcher must have done something even more incredibly brave, because the city fired him in February of this year. |
